AURA

1. Who we are

Aura is a personality and energy reading app operated by Shinn Digital (David Shinn), an individual developer based in the United States. Aura is distributed through the Google Play Store.

2. Information we collect

We collect the minimum information needed to make the app work. Specifically:

Information you provide directly

• Your name (used to personalize readings)
• Your birth date (used to generate your aura type)
• Your birth time (optional — only used if you provide it)
• Your city (optional)
• Names and birth dates of people you add as "connections" for compatibility readings

Information collected automatically

• A randomly generated anonymous account ID ("Firebase UID") created the first time you open the app. This ID is not tied to your name, email, phone number, or any real-world identifier unless you explicitly link a sign-in method.
• Device type, operating system version, and app version (used for crash reports and to fix bugs)
• Crash logs and error reports (used to fix problems in the app)
• Anonymous usage analytics — what screens you view, when you start the app, when you complete onboarding. No personally identifying information is attached.
• Purchase records if you subscribe (handled by Google Play Billing and RevenueCat — see "Third parties" below)
• Daily reading text generated for you by a third-party AI service (Anthropic Claude). The text of your readings is cached on your device and on our backend servers for up to 30 days.

Information we do NOT collect

• We do not collect your real name, email address, phone number, or location, unless you explicitly enter them.
• We do not access your contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or precise device location.
• We do not use the Google Advertising ID.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites.

3. How we use your information

We use the information described above to:

• Generate your personalized aura type and daily readings
• Calculate compatibility resonance between you and connections you add
• Process subscription purchases and manage your premium access
• Fix bugs, crashes, and performance issues
• Understand which features are used and improve the app
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your information for targeted advertising.

4. Third parties we share data with

To run Aura, we use a small number of third-party services. Each receives only the specific data needed to perform its function.

We have no control over these companies' independent privacy practices. We chose them for their published commitments to security and minimal data collection.

5. How long we keep your data

• Your profile, connections, and account data — kept until you delete the app or request deletion. After deletion request, we remove your data within 30 days.
• Daily readings — cached on your device indefinitely (in your control); kept on our backend for up to 30 days.
• Crash logs and analytics events — kept up to 90 days, then anonymized aggregates may be retained indefinitely.
• Purchase records — retained as long as required for tax, accounting, and refund purposes (typically 7 years).

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have some or all of the following rights:

• Access — you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — you can ask us to fix inaccurate data
• Deletion — you can ask us to delete your account and associated data ("right to erasure" under GDPR; "right to delete" under CCPA)
• Portability — you can request your data in a machine-readable format
• Opt-out of analytics — you can disable analytics in the app's Settings (coming in a future update)
• Withdraw consent — you can stop using the app at any time

7. Children's privacy

Aura is intended for users age 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has used Aura, please contact us and we will delete the associated data immediately.

8. Data security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data:

• All network traffic uses HTTPS encryption
• Authentication is handled by Google Firebase
• API keys to third-party services are kept on secure backend servers, not embedded in the app
• Database access is restricted by per-user authorization rules
• We do not store passwords (we currently use anonymous authentication)

No system is perfectly secure. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you within 72 hours via the app and at the email you've provided, if applicable.

9. International data transfers

If you use Aura outside the United States, your data may be transferred to and stored on servers in the United States, the European Union, or elsewhere our service providers operate. By using Aura you consent to this transfer.

10. Important disclaimer

Aura is intended for entertainment and personal reflection purposes only. Aura readings, aura types, compatibility scores, and other content provided by the app are not medical, psychological, financial, legal, or professional advice. Aura content should not be used to make important life decisions. If you are experiencing distress, please consult a qualified professional.

11. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy here with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will be announced in the app. Continued use of Aura after changes means you accept the updated policy.
