1. Deleting from inside the Aura app

The fastest way to delete your account is from inside the app itself. The flow is built to make the choice deliberate, you will be asked to confirm before anything is removed.

1. Open the Aura app on your Android device
2. Tap Profile in the bottom navigation
3. Tap the Settings gear in the top right
4. Scroll to the Danger Zone section at the bottom
5. Tap Delete Account
6. Read the confirmation, then tap Delete Account again to confirm

Once confirmed, your Firestore data, your Firebase Auth user, and your locally cached profile are wiped immediately. The app drops you back into onboarding as a brand new anonymous user.

2. Deleting if you cannot access the app

If you have lost access to the device you signed up on, or you cannot open the app for any reason, you can request deletion by email.

We process email deletion requests within 30 days, usually much sooner. We may reply to confirm the request is genuine before acting on it.

3. What gets deleted

When you delete your account, the following are permanently removed:

• Your Firestore profile document (name, birth date, optional birth time and city, aura type)
• Your connections (people you added for compatibility readings)
• Your cached daily readings stored on our backend
• Your Firebase Authentication user, including any email link, Google link, or anonymous identifier
• Your local AsyncStorage cache on the device (profile, readings, connections, premium flag, settings)
• Scheduled daily reminder notifications, if you had any enabled

4. What does not get deleted

For legal, accounting, and product reasons, a small set of things survive deletion. None of them identify you personally after your account is gone.

• Anonymized analytics aggregates. Once your account is gone, your contribution to counts like "daily readings opened" cannot be unwound, the aggregate is no longer tied to you in any retrievable way.
• Crash reports previously sent from your device. They contain stack traces and device type, not your name or readings.
• Purchase records required for tax, accounting, refunds, and chargeback handling. These are typically retained for seven years per standard financial recordkeeping requirements.
• Backup snapshots at our service providers (Google Firebase, Cloudflare). These are overwritten on their normal rotation, usually within 30 days.

5. How long deletion takes

• Firestore profile, connections, readings: removed immediately at the moment you confirm.
• Firebase Authentication user: removed immediately. Backup snapshots at Firebase are overwritten on their internal retention schedule, generally within 30 days.
• Local AsyncStorage on your device: wiped immediately by the app as part of the deletion flow.
• Email-based deletion requests: processed within 30 days, usually within a few business days.

6. Active subscriptions, please cancel separately

If you have an active Aura Premium subscription, deleting your Aura account does not cancel the subscription. Subscriptions live at the Google Play account level, not the Aura account level, so we cannot cancel them on your behalf.

To cancel your subscription:

1. Open the Google Play Store app
2. Tap your profile icon, then tap Payments and subscriptions
3. Tap Subscriptions
4. Tap Aura, then tap Cancel subscription

7. Reinstalling later

You can reinstall Aura at any time after deleting your account. You will go through onboarding again as a fresh anonymous user, no previous data, no previous readings. If you had a paid subscription that is still active at Google Play, tapping Restore Purchases on the paywall will recognize it and unlock premium again.
